Cadillac Rear Emblem with Dynamic Brake Light
This is not a static badge. The emblem runs a start-up animation when you turn the car on, holds a steady glow while you drive, and switches to red the moment you touch the brakes. It replaces the factory trunk crest in the original mounting position and wires into your existing tail light and high-mount brake circuits.
How the Three Modes Work
- Start-up: the crest animates as the ignition comes on
- Driving: steady illumination in white or your chosen colour
- Braking: switches to red automatically when the brake pedal is pressed
The brake function is optional. If you prefer the emblem to stay a single colour at all times, simply leave the white wire disconnected during installation — everything else works exactly the same.

Wiring
Three wires, all connecting to circuits already present behind the tailgate trim:
- Black — ground (−)
- Red — positive (+) on your tail light feed
- White — high-mount brake light circuit (omit to disable the red brake function)
Insulate every connection properly and test all three modes before refitting the trim panel. Because this installation touches the brake light circuit, we recommend an auto electrician if you have not wired into a vehicle lighting loom before.
Before You Fit It
The brake function adds a supplementary red light at the rear of the vehicle. Rules on additional brake lighting vary by state and country, and some jurisdictions require supplementary lamps to meet specific standards. Check your local vehicle lighting regulations before fitting, or leave the white wire disconnected to run the emblem as a decorative light only.

Does it really turn red when I brake? +
Yes. The white wire connects to your high-mount brake light circuit, so the emblem switches to red the moment the brake pedal is pressed and returns to its normal colour when you release. If you would rather it stayed one colour, leave the white wire disconnected — the start-up animation and steady driving light still work exactly the same.
Will it fit my Cadillac? +
Confirmed fitments are the CTS 2015-2019, XTS 2016-2017, and Escalade 2015-2020. Escalade models before 2015 fit with modification. For any other Cadillac, the emblem measures 176 x 70 mm — measure your factory rear badge and if the dimensions match, it will fit. Is the brake light function street legal? +
Rules on supplementary brake lighting vary by state and country, and some jurisdictions require additional lamps to meet specific standards. Red light at the rear of a vehicle is generally accepted, but we recommend checking your local vehicle lighting regulations before fitting. If in doubt, leave the white wire disconnected and run the emblem as a decorative light only.
Can I install this myself? +
It is more involved than a front grille emblem. The tailgate trim panel has to be released to reach the badge studs and the wiring, and three wires need connecting rather than two. Allow 45 to 60 minutes. Because the installation touches the brake light circuit, we recommend an auto electrician if you have not wired into a vehicle lighting loom before.

Can I fit this with a front light up emblem? +
Yes, and many owners do. Front emblems for individual models are listed separately in our illuminated Cadillac emblem range. Fitting both means the crest reads consistently from either end of the car. Note that front emblems do not have the brake function, since it only applies at the rear.
Is it waterproof? +
Yes. The housing is sealed against rain, snow, road spray and standard car washing including automatic washes. Pay particular attention to insulating the three wire connections during installation, since the tailgate is a high-moisture area.
Is this a genuine GM part? +
