Cadillac Blackwing Metal Emblem
A zinc alloy badge, not a printed decal. The difference shows up close — cast metal holds a crisp edge and a proper depth of finish, where vinyl always reads flat once you are standing next to the car. It mounts on adhesive, so there is nothing to drill and nothing permanent about it.
Where to Fit It
The two usual placements are the front fender behind the wheel arch, and the tailgate or trunk lid beside the model badge. Both work because the surface there is flat. The emblem also suits interior trim — the centre console surround or door card — where it stays out of the weather entirely.
Fit it to a flat surface only. The metal does not flex, so a strongly curved panel will leave the edges lifted and the adhesive will not hold.
Built to Stay Outside
Zinc alloy resists rust and corrosion, so the badge holds its finish through rain, snow, road salt and summer sun without dulling or pitting. Standard car washes are fine once the adhesive has cured.
Fitting
- Clean the surface with detergent or alcohol and let it dry completely — wax or grease will stop the adhesive bonding
- Position carefully before peeling, since the tape grips immediately
- Press firmly across the whole badge for 30 seconds
- Leave 24 hours before washing the car

Frequently Asked Questions — Cadillac Blackwing Emblem
Is this metal or a sticker? +
Zinc alloy. It mounts with adhesive rather than clips or studs, which is why it is sometimes called a sticker, but the badge itself is cast metal. It holds an edge and a depth of finish that printed vinyl cannot match, and it will not fade or peel at the corners the way a decal does.
Will it fit my Cadillac? +
Yes. Because it mounts on adhesive rather than factory studs, it fits any Cadillac model and year. The only requirement is a flat or very gently curved surface — the metal does not flex, so a strongly curved panel will leave the edges lifted.
Will it damage my paint when removed? +
On factory paint in good condition, no. Warm the badge with a hairdryer to soften the adhesive, then work fishing line or dental floss behind it and saw slowly through the tape. Residue comes off with adhesive remover. Take more care on repainted panels or wrapped surfaces, where the finish is less durable.
Will it survive a car wash? +
Yes, once the adhesive has cured. Wait 24 hours after fitting before the first wash. After that the zinc alloy and the tape handle automatic washes, rain, road salt and heat without lifting or dulling.
Is this a genuine GM part? +
No. This is an aftermarket styling accessory. Caddyaccessories is an independent retailer and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by General Motors or Cadillac. Fitting it does not indicate that a vehicle is a factory Blackwing model.
